MAGNIFICENT WELSH UNDER-21's ON VERGE OF EURO GROUP GLORY AFTER A DRAMATIC WIN IN BOSNIA.
Wales struck gold in Sarajevo this afternoon with an amazing 2-1 victory with both goals coming in the final 3 minutes after staring defeat in the face. This is a result that sends Brian Flynn's heroes 4 points clear of their group with just head-to-head fixtures against Romania to go in which the Welsh require one win or two draws at most to make it. Their next fixture is home to Romania in August so let's hope they make it at the first time of asking.
What has made their success even more amazing is that 5 or 6 eligible players for the U-21's have been with the Seniors throughout although, for this one, Chris Gunter and Wayne Hennessey linked up with the squad. Hennessey did not, in fact, play due to injury. Cardiff City's Aaron Ramsey was their playmaker again showing what a talent he is at just 17.
A tight game saw Wales have marginally the better of the first half but with nothing to show for it but disaster struck early in the second period when the Bosnians went in front.
The home side then put eveyone behind the ball, fiervcely fought for what they had and playing on a bumpy pitch where football was tough going, it looked ominous.
However this Welsh side have shown amazing fight and spirit throughout and won previous games late on but not as dramatic as this when SIMON CHURCH equalising on 87 and CHED EVENS then grabbing that dramatic and priceless victory on 89.
I salute you boys!!
