On Hearing He Has Been Linked To Cardiff City
THE RUMOUR MILL IS TWITCHING WITH NEWS THAT THE BLUEBIRDS MAY BE MAKING A SUMMER MOVE FOR JOHN RUDDY
But who the Ruddy Hell is he?
At 22, Ruddy, a goalkeeper, was signed by Premiership side Everton in 2005 from Cambridge United for £250,000 but, to date, has only had 1 substitute appearence for the Merseysiders over two years ago when he played 80 minutes in the Premiership after The Toffees main keeper, Ian Turner, was sent off. He kept a clean sheet as Everton beat Blackburn but not played since for them.
However, he has had 8 loan spells at 7 different clubs and is currently loaned to Stockport County for a second time where he has kept 4 clean sheets and conceded just 1 goal in 5 games.
At 6' 4", he certainly fills Dave Jones' known criteria for tall goalkeepers so there may be something in this rumour which strongly suggests Cardiff have already made an approach. Some Bluebirds followers will ponder if this has cropped up in conversation of a result of Everton apparently top of the list to take Joe Ledley away from City this summer even if that rumour has been denied ... ... sort of!
