Unintentional Funny

Had an e-mail off a company I've used before for a holiday saying how you'd be covered by them and how they sorted out XL passengers etc.

Then I realised the owners name is probably pronounced as Aching Cock - which is often after a holiday!

XL Airways Collapse

Dear Nigel ,
With the recent media coverage of the collapse of XL airlines, it would not be surprising if some of you were worrying about your holidays or wondering how on earth you would be able to feel confident about booking a holiday in the future. I thought this would be a good opportunity, therefore, for me to reassure you and also to explain a little bit about the safeguards that are in place. Anatolian Sky has been in the market for nearly 20 years.

It is a very well-established tour operator and a member of both ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators). Most importantly, though, we are bonded by the Civil Aviation Authority under ATOL licence number 2672. What this means is that in the extremely unlikely event that anything should happen to us then your holiday would be covered by this bond.

More importantly, for those of you who were booked through us on XL flights, it means that it is our responsibility to re-arrange your flights for you, at no extra cost to you. As I am sure you know, XL went into liquidation last Friday and as soon as we heard the news we worked around the clock to ensure that there was as little disruption to our clients' holidays as possible.

By Saturday morning we had already made alternative arrangements for those clients who were due to come back from Dalaman on an XL flight that evening and for those who were due to depart on their holidays. This was all at no extra cost to our clients. Those people whose flights were not booked through an ATOL tour operator like ourselves would have had to pay again for their flights - that is if they could have found a seat. Flight prices to Turkey almost doubled as soon as the collapse of XL was announced so this could have proved to be a very expensive business. ATOL bonding is just one of the many reasons to book with a reputable operator such as Anatolian Sky. As a specialist, our close personal relationships with hotels and airlines help us to cope better with difficult situations such as these.

If you did book through another tour operator and have been affected by the situation with XL then we do still have some availability in Turkey and North Cyprus for the rest of the summer season.
