CARDIFF CITY MEN IN WORLD CUP ACTION

Only Joe Ledley, Paul Parry and Eddie Johnson saw winning starts in the opening games of World Cup 2010 ... and it was only Joe Ledley who played out of that trio, the other two had nothing more than bench warming duties.

LEDLEY and PARRY were, of course, members of the Wales squad who scraped their way to late victory over Azerbaijan.

EDDIE JOHNSON was an unused substitute in USA's workmanlike 1-0 victory in Havana, Cuban on a poor pitch with poorer light due to floodlit failure.

KEVIN McNAUGHTON and GAVIN RAE both missed Scotland's ill feted disaster in Macedonia due to injury, the Scots losing 1-0 but ROSS McCORMACK shone for their Under-21's in the latest victory.

City's unwanted forward WARREN FEENEY, now on a season's loan with Willo Flood at Dundee United, played a full 90 minutes for Northern Ireland but they failed in Slovakia, losing 2-1.
