00:10 JOE STAYS BUT IS THAT WHAT HE REALLY WANTED?

The transfer window is now closed and it is confirmed that having declined bids rising from £5M to £6M, Joe Ledley will remain a Bluebird.

However, news emerges of a sub-plot in which Joe indicated that he did wish to move but was told by the club that they wouldn't sell. Sources behind this cannot be revealed but are reliable. (In fact, Sky Sports News have also indicated they're aware Joe wanted to move too).

On the one hand, well done to City to holding onto their asset but will it be at the expense of a disgruntled player on the other who, without question, wants to play in the Premiership and it's where his talents should be.

The other point, rather overlooked on a dramatic day, is that City - in my view - haven't adequately equipped themselves to kick on. We have spent just £625K of the £8M received for Ramsey and Loovens and gambled on those cheap, loan on free signings brought to the club. I remain disappointed overall with how things have gone since the F.A. Cup Final and the windfalls which really should have helped City kick on with far more ambition than they have.
