ESPN web asks, "WHY IS EDDIE JOHNSON STILL IN THE USA NATIONAL SQUAD?"

Why's it me they're all talking about?

A damning article, and reader comments, have appeared on the ESPN website regarding Cardiff City loan striker Eddie Johnson.

Ahead of USA's World Cup qualifiers against Cuba and Trindad & Tobago in the next few days, the article seriously questions why team manager Bob Bradley continues to select him in squads. Feelings are strong amongst journos and supporters that EJ does not deserve to be there but the boss defended his selection and expressed his pleasure that he is now at Cardiff City.

Unfortunately, that pleasure appears to be based on his belief that Johnson will get regular football but he already looks nailed on for a place on the bench and is clearly going to have to work very hard and improve to get regular first team action.
Looks like our first impressions of him in a Cardiff City shirt - admittedly at a time where he is badly short of match fitness having not really started a game for 6 months - is little different to USA fans who have followed his career. That's a worry!
