EASTWOOD - JOINING CARDIFF WOULD HAVE MADE MY DAY, PUNK

Talking to media in the West Midlands, Coventry City forward FREDY EASTWOOD made it known how he would have joined Cardiff City ... if only they'd have asked.

The Welsh international admits this morning how he was interested in coming but that he felt it was only paper talk and no enquiry was made.

Eastwood, of course, made his feelings about this known at the time but Dave Jones passed on him, making the now hideous quotes that the calibre of strikers he had in mind were all better than Eastwoood. How stupid, stubborn and ignorant does that now appear?

Fredy has not been a big hit yet for Cov. The £1.2M capture from Wolves netted only his 2nd Championship goal for the Sky Blues on the weekend in a 1-1 draw at Coventry but that's prolific by Cardiff's standards. He is exactly the 'in the box' predator that Jones didn't bring to this club at all and which is a badly missing feature of his latest squad.

One thing we do know is that Eastwood will continue to grab goals. Eddie Johnson doesn't threaten to score at all for City while Jay Bothroyd is now 1 goal in 29 games and none yet for City. There were signed after Fredy was snubbed so presumably are the men Dave Jones feels are so much better??? I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious.
