DAVID FORDE abourt to exit stage left back to Ireland?

Jason Byrne and David Forde both arrived on these shores from Ireland in last January's transfer window full of hope and expectation. Without question, they were a desparate throw of the dice by the club who wouldn't have looked at them had finances been better at a time we could have expected a determined push for a Premiership promotion/play-off spot that was very much within our grasp. The gamble failed, it's proved a tough and mostly fruitless year for the pair.

Earlier this week, Byrne headed home and it is believed that David Forde is currently mulling over the chance to return to his previous club, Derry.

Football-wise, there is no reason to stay at Cardiff where he simply has no future at all. He's has been thrid choice out of three all season and only found himself 2nd choice when we had no other goalkeeper. Yesterday's loan capture of Peter Enckleman has once more pushed him out of the picture.

Dave Jones is on record as saying a Championship club must have three goalkeepers but it's obvious that Forde is now seen as surplus. His only action this season has been on loan at Luton where he did well enough for The Hatters to ask for him again but he refused late last year and finds himself very much a nowhere man.

In fairness to Forde ,he hasnt being much worse since then ten keepers we have tried since.
Hes a decent backup with champions league experience with Derry. I can Enkleman making a few clangers before the season is up as well

ninianparkblues, how is Forde better than Turnbull, Oakes, Smeiachel(Sorry about spelling)and Enkleman - they all have PREMIER LEAGUE experience. And yes I know about Enkleman's c**k up vs Birmingham, and I also know that Oakes & Turnbull haven't been great but they been average, which is BETTER than Forde. Oh yeah and SERIOUSLY I am Peter Risdale.

Turnbill was a complete failure.
Oakes, average. Enkleman is a poor keeper. Forde is decent backup is what I said. No better than Enklman or Oakes, but no worse either. Oakes is an old man now. Let him off to pasture. I saw fordefor Derry against top class teams, and he was a decent keeper. Were not going to be able to sign world class keepers, and its hard to see any decent ones coming through the ranks. Enkleman has made more clangers than just the one u mentioned above.
Signed, David Fordes Agent :)

Can I just mention to all of you
gentlemen that Forde (hopefully) is on his way out of Cardiff in a couple of weeks.
In reply to Anonymus Turnbull did an average job until we signed Schmeichiel.

Forde is a reliable Shotstopper.Has all the attributes of a premiership keeper. He is been judged by his performances in the latter part of cardiff season.any player needs time to settle in new surrondings.Forde is a class act.Proven with his successes at derry city. Was a key member of this team winning the league of Irelands,FAI CUP,Ran PSG close in champion league.Cardiff are after making a big mistake.give the man a chance. He wont let you down.Skippy

Skip, you are so, so ,so, so wrong! (are you sure your not just David Fore trying to make him look half decent!!)
The reason he won a couple of trophies was because he played in a 'Mickey Mouse' league (no offence to FAI) and also Cardiff are not making a big mistake - they would be making the right desicion, and in return to 'Forde has the attributes of a Premiership keeper' which Premier League are you watching? - the American one?! and if he was good any way, why was he rubbish in the 7 matches he DID play in?
Finally, here the record of his seven games...

Anonymous,Who ever ya are.Ya cant judge a player by his performance in a few games.Well I surpose thats why your anonymous coz ya dont really know what your talking about.David forde was street ahead of any other keeper in the league of Ireland.he is better than any of the other kepper that they have tryed this season. He went on loan to luton and kept clean sheets again premiership opposition.Anyone can do that? Can they!!!!

Oh my gosh Skip - I am SHOCKED that you can say David Forde is a half decent Keeper. He so so rubbish they loaned him out to LEAGUE 1 STRUGGLERS BOURNEMOUTH (which is just about his level) well anyway we have a good keeper in Enckleman who hasn't dropped and clangers (yet - hopefully!)
When you say 'he kept a clean Sheet against Sunderland' IT WAS JUST A FLUKE - get over it - ANYONE CAN KEEP A FLUKEY CLEAN SHEET can't they??.
Oh yeah and by the way I do know what I'm talking about because I have very knowedgeable friends who know THAT FORDE IS RUBBISH!!
Its you that doesn't know what you're taking about!!

Nearly Kept Bournmouth up on his own. fair play. I am a cheeries season ticket holder and if we had him from start of season, wed have stayed up. the more he played the more confident he was. Wait for Pompey guys, i read from blogs there focusing on Enlkeman as one of your main weakness and the reason ye dropped down from promotion hopefulls.
