Cardiff City look to shine with Polish?

Not a pretty sight

After the morning nationals speculated two players Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale rushed to Scotland to watch – see earlier article – the evening local suggested a different target altogether at the same Dundee United vs Hearts fixture.

Polish 31 yr old goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski who changes clubs more often than he has a birthday is out of contract at Dundee United this month, having agreed a one month extension to a 6 moth deal just last week. It is rumoured that Celtic, Hearts and Plymouth are also interested in a deal for him.

Whether he’s the only target, in addition to the others, whether anything will come of this or whether Pete & Dave are just there for the Hogmanay aftermath and a chance to watch almost forgotten City man Willo Flood who is on loan at Dundee United, time will tell.

Meantime, it has emerged that Kasper Schemeicel decided not to extend his loan with Cardiff City for a couple more game. Although that’s the impression he gave to the media, reports suggest he now wants to fight for a first team spot at Manchester City. Other reports suggest Barcelona are interested in him. Regardless, it appears certain we have see the last of him at Cardiff which is a real shame.
