A Forde With Nowhere To Go

One Used Forde
But It's Unable To Move

Can life get any worse for David Forde?

Signed a year ago by Cardiff City but has gone from first to third choice (mind you, only Dave Jones' arrogance made him first choice anyway). Now, not wanted by City and frozen out all season long, he needs to get away himself for first team football and showed he is not keen to sit around by going on loan earlier this season.

All January, he was linked with moves back to Ireland or even to Scotland until a twist a fortnight ago when City agreed to go as an emergency loan for Bournemouth. He was en route to the South Coast to stat for The Cherries against Luton who had printed a first team shirt with his name when the F.A. blocked the move with the Hampshire side declaring an intent to file for administration effectively placing a transfer embargo on themselves.

Forde was contacted and told to turn around and head for Mid Wales instead to play for Cardiff City in a FAW Premier Cup tie at Welshpool, City winning 1-0 helped by a fine late Forde save. However that game appears to have been his undoing.

On transfer deadline day, in came Dundee United who were willing to take hom on loan for the season (ironically as The Pole who City looked at earlier in the month but declined was offered a chance with Rangers but he declined that and returned to Poland, Rangers instead taking City old boy Neil Alexander, what a merry-go-round). Had he joined, Forde would have linked up with Willo Flood, also on loan with the Tangerines.

However that has been blocked too as Forde has played in competitions for 2 different countries, England in the Championship and Wales for the FAW TInpot Bowling Ball Thingy. There is a rule, apparently, that players cannot play in competition for more than 2 associations in the same season. Seems a bit crazy, sillier still when Forde has only done that technically.

UEFA are going to review. I hope for Forde's sake they see sense as they're judging over whether to rule a player out of football altogether until next season.
