DAVID JAMES SAYS HE'S READY TO FACE CARDIFF CITY

POMPEY keeper David James has declared himself fit and able to play again after a scan yesterday showed his injured calf to be clear adding, "we'll now see what the gaffer says".
James - the same age as Hasselbaink - has arguably had his best season ever but missed Pompey's last two league games after injury during his team's recent 3-1 defeat at Manchester City. There have been doubts that he would be available for the final.
It remains to be seen whether Pompey will use him - and many other players set for F.A. Cup Final duty - in their final Premiership match against relegation haunted Fulham this Sunday even though Harry Redknapp is on record for saying he wants to field his strongest side - especially given recent poor results and displays - with James continuing, "It was deeply frustrating not playing but then at the same time I'm part of a team, and if it's deemed right that I don't play and the gaffer decides he doesn't want me to play - much as I'll dislike him for the whole match - then fine."
