Pop-a-doodle-doo! Not’arf.
In the F.A. Cup Final song cheese-fest, Cardiff City came out comfortably on top with James Fox’s Bluebirds Flying High entering the charts at No: 15 while Portsmouth’s Cup Final song made no impression whatsoever. The football club, players and media have all firmly been behind City’s song which is believed to have sold about 8,000 copies.
While some media – South Wales Echo included – claim the song was # 1 on cd sales alone and only dropped when downloads were added, this contradicts all midweek and daily chart updates which always had the song between 13 and 18.
However ver in a depressed music market and a chart that has all but died – who buys cd singles these days? – did you ever think a song about Cardiff City would be in the Top 20? Good way to start Cup Final week.
