Two goals in the final 20 minutes, the second of those in added time, saw the Russians of Zenit St. Petersburg comfortably brush aside the challenge to Rangers in the UEFA Cup Final at Manchester City's Commonwealth Stadium.
The Russians controlled it start to finish with almost 70% of possession, some lovely footballer and the game's best player with a classic sounding name like Arse Shaving(!) - it was Arshavin - who created both goal. They provided constant danger while Rangers only mustered two chances.
Neil Alexander can take great satifaction in his display, helpless for both goals, and solid throughout with a couple of good stops.
Rangers amazingly took in excess of 100,000 fans to swap Manchester that caused massive problems and trouble - the worst being flashpoints after one of the big screens in the centre with 30,000 fans in attendance broke down leaving them unable to see the game. Doh!
