There is a sense of deja vu about Cardiff City's pre-season schedule which has just been announced.
The opening friendly of the season, just like last year, will see the first team split into two groups for simultaneous games at Carmarthen and Merthyr. This takes place on July 12 so is just 6 weeks away as pre-seasons get shorter and shorter.
Losing the F.A. Cup Final meant City missed out on the UEFA Cup but the achievement got them into Europe anyway with the Algrave Cup tournament.
And, as is becoming the 'norm', there will only be one home game coming the week before the new Championship season opens.
There are reserve team outings as some regular haunts too but a visit to Chasetown is in that schedule.
The list reads;
FIRST TEAM FIXTURES
JULY 12th - Carmarthen and Merthyr away
JULY 22nd - Guinmares in Algarve Cup
JULY 24th - Celtic in Algrave Cup
JULY 29th - Swindon Town away
AUGUST 2nd - Opponents to be named, game at Ninian Park
RESERVE FIXTURES - all away games
JULY 19th - Chippenham
JULY 27th - Havefordwest
AUGUST 5th - Chasetown
AUGUST 13th - Team Bath
