Capaldi had a first half to his City season in which "hopeless" may have been a kind description but setlled down afterwards to become more solid but still prone to bad calls such as the crazy stand-off of his in the Cup Final allowing the cross to come in for Pompey's winning goal that really should have been cut out long before.
He came to Cardiff, allegedly almost quadrupling his Plymouth wages, but never really looked better than Chris Barker - a player Dave Jones didn't rate and let go.
Maybe the chance to sell Capaldi for money, get a good replacement and lessen the wage bill giving Jones more room to spend elsewhere in the squad provides some appeal?
