Always loved The Clash, superb on record (even if they didn't always get it right) and unrivalled live. Their 1,600 tonnes gig at Cardiff Sophias Gardens in support of their legendary London Calling album remains one of my top three gigs of my life.

I know nothing about Masters In France other than they’re a Cardiff group, their last single (Greyhound) was a Radio 1 single of the week and their new single featured in this video features Joe and Enzo Calzaghe plus a postcard to Romilly Road, Canton which is where I was grew up.

GLC must have felt their noses put right out of joint as a YouTube video gently mocking Newport to the New York, Empire State of Mind song by Alicia Keys and Jay - it was their terriotory and they sort of mockery they would normally put out and excel at.

So, instead, they're playing catch up but you got to enjoy this come back ... even if it also comes across a bit like sour grapes.

The Window Rapist

Antoine Dodson has become an internet smash this week after this interview on US tv of how he prevented an intruder from raping his sister and how he will get him. Serious story but his reaction is hilarious but better still is the tribute song!



So "moved" were people by Antoine's reaction that it was turned into music, how lovely!

DEVO -Fresh

Since the blog took a hibernation, DEVO my first music love, relased a new album Something for Everyone, their first for 20 years and instantly showed with groups of the same genre how it's done.

A hilarious tribute song to an equally hilarious penalty miss

A Leicester fan signs his "tribute"(?) to Yann Kermogant's fantasticaly stupid penalty last night at CCS that cost his side the two legged tie and sent Cardiff City laughing, singing, crying and dancing all the way home knowing just 90 minutes at Wembley stands between them and the Premier League.

It's been announced that DEVO#s new album, the first in more than a decade, will be released on June 15th.

DEVO fans were allowed to vote for their favourite 12 tracks from a list of 16 so the final order is awaited. However the simple but effective album cover has been shown - Eat My Helmet indeed!

Video of the Week - DEVO, Penetration in the Centrefold

A DEVO rarity - it was only ever a B side to The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise - but this has always been one of my DEVO faves, I just love the sheer rawness and chaso that comes with it. So I'm delighted to have seen this 1977 version of the song.

You'll love it or hate it, I think it's fan-bloody-tastic!

DEVO, THE INTERNET AND YOU (or DEVO at SXSW)

For the second successive year, DEVO were major guests at the music business' prestigious South By South West conference event. Last year they played, this year they hosted a conference with the theme - DEVO, The Internet and You.

As with all things DEVO, it was suitably offbeat, enbtertaining and plain weird.
