Van Der Schaaf in his only Burnley and UK appearence so far ... maybe ever?
Thinking about last night's game, I remembered how Burnley rejoiced at nabbing Van Der Schaaf off us when he was here to sign.
Dave Jones was gutted that he didn't sign a player he wanted as his significant competition for Rae and McPhail and talked highly about but it emerged later that the deal with us stalled only because the player and his agent wanted £1/4M each for signing and his wages doubled. City baulked at that, Burnley didn't by all accounts.
Turns out he was withdrawn before an hour on the opening day of the season and he's not been seen since on matchdays.
A truly lucky escape.
