CARDIFF CITY MANAGER DAVE JONES has now waded into the Paul Parry self-inflicted disgrace - why don't the club just shut the **** up and let it die down?
Worse than that, why are they wasting their time trying to defend the indefensible? Because the club releasing official statements hours before the Russia game and now Dave Jones laughably trying to suggest Parry has been hard done by - bless him - does nobody any favours.
There's standing up for your player - which is understandable - and being silly about it - which isn't.
Jones has been in the game long enough to know Parry - the stupid boy - caused his own problem and all the damage here. It's pretty obvious he's got a gripe with Toshack but the way he conducted himself was appalling and shameful.
For Jones to say Parry is not the only player to pull out of international teams is, as he knows, completely missing the point. Can anyone name a player to walk away from a national squad between games or at 6pm the evening before his country fly out for a vital game, especially after being told he was playing too?
Paul Parry has made it clear he wants to be striker at City but is down to 5th choice and not getting the gig. How would Jones feel if Parry didn't bother turning up for City for the same reasons? He'd naturally go apeshit - what a hypocrite.
Dave Jones ends up saying that he expects City fans to give Paul Parry the reception he deserves. Each to their own.I'd never boo Parry or any City player but, this weekend, I won't be cheeering or applauding when the name Paul Parry is announced over the tannoy - he fully deserves that!
