Kasper Coming Back? Good Rumour or Utter Rubbish???

With no great news coming from behind the Ninian Park gates, one topic has got City fans gossiping – could Kasper Schmeichel be returning to Cardiff City for the rest of this season?

Son of Peter made a big impact on loan at The Bluebirds last season but cut short his loan spell at the start of last January when he could have stayed all month. He departed suddenly after a home game and it prompted speculation that there may have been a rift. Many Cardiff fans would have like to have seen Kasper sign in the summer or on loan recently as he has generally been viewed as Cardiff’s best talent between the posts since Neil Alexander left.

Speculation has arisen after Kasper’s agent hinted at the start of this week that he was about to join a Championship club as an emergency loan for the rest of this season. He is now 3rd choice at Man City behind Shay Given and Joe Hart and clearly needs to go elsewhere to play game.

Of course, City currently have Dimi on loan but he just does not look up to the task – horrific howlers by him have cost City goals and points at Wolves and Norwich with Dave Jones openly criticising him after the midweek loss at Carrow Road.

Cardiff can invoke an emergency loan and justify it too with Peter Enckleman and Tom Heaton both injured and likely to be out for a while longer. It would seem that DJ and his players are fast losing all confidence in Dimi.

Now rumours are rising that Kasper will be confirmed as a loan signing tomorrow and step straight between the posts at Ashton Gate in a Cardiff City short on Sunday. It could be a hoax and wishful thinking – I’d just love to think it’s true though as we clearly have a problem with Dimi.
