CITY's IMPROBABLE PLAY-OFF HOPES GET A SMALL BOOST

Wolves lost at home to West Brom tonight. They had 5 games left, 4 at home and seeemed in pole position to grab the final play-off spot available and wanted by no fewer than 8 sides, City included.

While Cardiff firmly remain rank outsiders currently in 10th and 5 points off the pace with 4 games to go (Chelsea are written off for Premiership title in an indentical situation), it is a result that means should City win their last 4 games, they will finish at least 8th but should Crystal Palace or Ipswich fail in just 1 of their remiaing fixtures, City would sneak into 6th spot.

Aside from the fact that I don't know many City fans who could afford 2 play-off semi-finals and another trip to Wembley the week after the F.A. Cup Final if we do go all the way, I'd still be happier if we concentrated on the F.A. Cup as that's once in a lifetime while we can go for play-offs any season really.

Next up however is a trip to already relegated Scunthorpe this weekend and if we win that, as we should, then perhaps anything is possible.
