CARDIFF CITY - Some things change, some remain the same

Any finish above 9th will our best since the days of Jimmy Scoular in 1971. Add in the F.A. Cup Final and that excellent last 16 Carling Cup display at Anfield and this is now the best season in my lifetime even if it hasn’t always felt that way and it could yet be even better.

Talking after the game, my pals and instantly recalled those two missed last minute penalties and late leads thrown away at Watford, Sheffield United and West Brom that cost 8 points earlier this season. But, perhaps more damaging, were poor recent results at the business end of the season as City took 1 point against 3 of the current bottom 4 (Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester).

A City tradition to perform against leading sides but fail to take advantage of strugglers is, perhaps, one thing that hasn’t changed this season.
