Wayne Routledge has spoken to the official QPR webiste about his delight at signing for the club and snubbing Cardiff City in the process but some of his quotes do baffle a little.
The player signed for an undisclosed fee but believed to be circa £300,000 said, "I'm absolutely thrilled to be here and delighted to have sealed the move. QPR are a club with huge ambitions and as soon as they showed interest in me I was determined to speak to them."
He added, "The manager has a great vision about where he wants to take the club and he sees me playing a big part in that. It's nice coming back to London, but the geography didn't play a big part in my decision- the reason I am here is because the manager showed an unbelievable desire to get me to QPR."
So didn't Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale show an unbelievable desire to get him to sign for Cardiff City and didn't the player himself make it known, pre-QPR interest, that he wished to stay with The Bluebirds?? And aren't Cardiff better placed than Rangers with a new stadium opening this summer and a smaller squad almost guaranteeing him first team football?
Of course, there's the small matter of Rangers matching Cardiff's 3.5 year contract offer but with far superior wages that is over and above his Aston Villa Premiership pay.
Good Luck to Routs but it couldn't possible have anything to do with money, could it Wayne???
