Cardiff City took the unusual step of confirming their major F.A. Cup 4th Round home tie will be held at Ninian Park and not Millennium Stadium via a statement on its official website today. City fans will wonder why they felt that necessary.
No Cardiff City supporter felt it should or ever would be played anywhere else but a few gloryseekers worried they wouldn't get a ticket and local media speculating about the riches of switching the game made a little noise, the club obviously felt they needed to kill that before it had any credence ... something it never would anyway.
So Ninian Park it is of course but on a Sunday. Setanta Sports have announced it as one of their live games so it has been switched to Sunday January 25th with a 1:30pm kick-off. The t.v. revenue will give City a further windfall. More importantly, expect City fans to be asking their landlords to open up from breakfast time!
