Darren Purse's mooted transfer to Norwich City is off and he will stay at Ninian Park at least until the end of this season. Purse is only likely to play for Cardiff City should Roger Johnson or Gabor Gypes get injured or suspended.
The club told him he could leave if they managed to sign a replacement and he was in talks with The Canaries but Dave Jones has failed to find an adequate replacement with the transfer window about to close and told Purse he will stay at the club. The player took the news well and said he is happy to help Cardiff's quest for the season remainder but, deep down, I'm sure he just wants to play football and if that isn't at Cardiff, the it has to be elsewhere. That will now surely happn this summer.
