As predicted on this blog a couple of days ago, Reading's Steve Coppell pipped Dave Jones to the Championship Manager of the Month for December when the announcement was made this morning.
The Royals and Cardiff City had the two best records in the division last month but, ironically, that last gasp Boxing Day equaliser by Reading keeper Federici not only denied City a win in the game but made Reading's record a touch better than the Bluebirds too, enough to win the award.
The two sides face each other this Staurday in the F.A.Cup Round, the third match between the sides in 5 weeks.
