WIND UP? IT'S NO JOKE AS CITY ON THE ROPES AGAIN

When news emerged, albeit sensationalised in a Sunday paper last weekend, that City had defeaulted on an agreed payment to the taxman, speculation was rife that a new winding order must be a natural consequence.

Today that was confirmed as BBC reported a winding up order for the club was due to be heard in court on February 10th.

Blog and City followers will be aware an initial winding up order in November was removed in Decmeber as the club had agreed a repayment schedukle but the new order is a result of not meeting that agreement.

City owe the taxman £2.7M - representing 5 months PAYE - but Peter Risdale and the club moved quickly to play it down saying it will be paid this month and the hearing was a "back stop" just in case Cardiff did not do this.

Supporters nerves are frayed and there was another outburst of anger on messageboards but, for what it's worth, I'm quite sure it will be paid too but I hope it's not at the expense of players ales which is possible.

More to follow.
