Roger's Over and Out ... Johnson heads to Premiership for "*£5 Million" (*maybe)

Angst ran amongst Cardiff City's support today as worst fears were finally confirmed ... as if it was ever in doubt ... ROGER JOHNSON - centre half talisman and Cardiff's player of the year for the past 2 seasons - has finally departed for Premiership new boys Birmingham City.

The headline figure is £5M but it is believed the components are just £2M now, 2 x £1M in annual payments over the next 2 years and £1M if Birmingham survive the Premiership this coming season. The deal seems little better than the offers the club were declining a week or two ago but clearly Roger wants to leave and good luck to him while the club need player movement to allow them to move for new faces.

With Darren Purse also having left, Dave Jones now needs to secure two centre halves but Roger's contribution is at both ends of the field and he will be a big miss for the club.
