CARDIFF CITY fans are used to going to Swansea City on a "bubble trip" - so called as fans are all contained 'in a bubble' with everyone travelling by coach envoy under police escort, taken straight into the stadium and then escorted away afterwards.
Even though, fans will be leaving Ninian Park more than 3 hours before kick-off for a trip that usually takes 45 minutes, there is an incredible amount of hassle and hold up and supporters are charged a higher than ever £42 for that "privilege"(!?), The Bluebirds 1,800 allocation sold out in a couple of hours.
However it would appear City's team are under similar restrictions for next Saturday as South Wales Police have 'banned' them from staying in Swansea the night before the game.
The game is live on Sky tv and has an early 12:45pm kick-off so Dave Jones planned to stay in or near the City the night before the game but those ideas have been shelved.
Speaking to WalesOnline.com, DJ commented: “We’re not able to stay in Swansea the night before as police have advised us not to. It’s an away game and I wanted to treat it as so and stay reasonably close to the ground as we would do on any other away game but police have advised us that it is best to stay out of the Swansea area."
“When supporters find out where you are staying, things like setting fire alarms off and trying to keep players awake during the night start to happen. So it’s best all round to stay in Cardiff overnight and then travel to the game on the morning of the match.”
