Videos of the Week - DEVO Uncontrollable Urge (twice) and Whip It

With news that DEVO are heading back to these shores are are going to play their enitre debut album live - can't wait to hear Satsifaction, Jocko Homo, Sloppy, Praying Hands, Mongoloid, Space Junk and co - but another stand out moment from that album and a song that stands time as a good rock anthem is Uncontrollable Urge which always comes complete with a DEVO quirky robotic routine.

This performance is from 1980's movie, "Urgh! A Music War!", showcasing new wave acts of that time. The audience shots are corny but the performance capture is fantastic.

(I'll keep it a secret that this is a song about masturbation!)

And here they are performing on Fridays, a cult American comedy/sketch/music show in 1980 at the time of their New Traditionalist era. No songs were played from that album as they reverted to their major US hit, Whip It, and a performance of Uncontrollable Urge after taking part in a surreal skit.
