McCormack heading to Pompey?

Ross McCormack joined Cardiff City last summer just after The Bluebirds lost out to Portsmouth in the F.A. Cup Final at Wembley - a year on and City may be set to lose their star man to the South Coast club as well.

Following Ross McCormack telling the club he wished to leave last week - but in Ross' words, not handing in a transfer request - City have been braced mainly for an approach from Hull City but it is Portsmouth who have made the first move and possibly a decisive one as well.

The club have been in freefall and selling player after player which included key striker Peter Crouch 48 hours ago so, despite their financial woes, they need to spend and recruit new faces and it appears that Ross has been identified.

Sky Sports News are currently reporting a bid had been made while news sources in Portsmouth confirm that their Chief Executive Peter Storrie has contacted Peter Ridsdale and "encouraged by talks (while) informed a fee of around £5m will land the Scottish international".
