World Cup: Liechtenstein 0 WALES 2

Wales rounded off their miserable World Cup 2010 campaign with a 2-0 win over 159th ranked Liechtenstein at their apline stadium in Vaduz. It meant Wales finished 4th having lost home and away to the three sides above them - Germany, Russia and Finland - but having won home and away in Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein, the nations below them.

The away win - after 7 defeats in 10 - with a clean and goals from David Vaughan plus former Cardiff City man Aaron Ramsey are about all the positives as the game was the poorest of spectacles. 500 Welsh were there,, hardly any locals in a country of just 34,000 people.

Wales started brightly and missed a couple of openings before DAVID VAUGHAN connected with a perfect man of the match Gareth Bale ball across the box. However they took their foot off the gas and coasted to half-time surviving a scare while the 'out of his depth'(???) Jermain Easter fired striaght at the keeper when through on goal.

The secodn half was terrible and made me turn over long before the end as Wales laboured and the hosts had some half chances. It looked like 2 park sides although 2 park sides usually produce a better game.

However AARON RAMSEY fired home an excellent free-kick 10 minutes from time in one of Wales few efforts of the second period.

Well done Wales but thank god it's all over!
