Sullivan Rumour Dismissed - now there's a surprise

No sooner had the South Wales Echo - for the umpteenth year running - created a rumour citing an inevitable 'close friend' source that David Sullivan was looking to invest in Cardiff City, the club themselves have today moved to dismiss it.


Chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed he followed up the story by contacting a known link to Sullivan but was given the firm rebuff that, "I asked someone who is close to David Sullivan to speak to him. And I was told the stories are not true and he had no interest in investing in Cardiff City Football Club."


At least, for a change, it isn't going to be spun out in the press for a while before the standard 'not now' line appears and amen to that.
