As transfer rumours and speculation continue daily, there hasn't been too much worthy of note to report from a Cardiff City viewpoint.
One interesting story today though as sources at or close to Birmingham City claim to have bid £3.5M for The Bluebirds' Roger Johnson a fortnight ago but were declined. They claim, "We were told he is not for sale at any price. It’s a starting bid but we have had little encouragement coming back from Cardiff and told that the price was well below what they rated the player."
So did it happen? If it did, was the terms of the offer the problem, are City hoping to cash in for much more or are they determined to hold onto an asset they want to be their Captain for next season.
Roger is under long-term contract but at 26 must be getting itchy feet for the Premier League and I wonder how he feels if Cardiff are again turning down Premiership bids for him after the same thing happenend in January?
I get the impression the club are clearly resigned to selling Joe Ledley, wouldn't mind cashing in on Ross McCormack but are determined to keep Roger. Who knows if that is how it will pan out though?
