When Stuart Taylor became Cardiff City's 5th goalkeeper and 4th loan keeper last season putting in a promising debut shift at Bristol City, Bluebird followers thought we had finally found the answer to a long-standing problem.
That turned out to be as good as it got as he remained a regular for some time but rarely convinced then was 'bombed' from the side after that 6-0 drubbing at Preston. Few would argue that his time at Cardiff was poor at best, failure at worst which summed up why he has spent a career as a benchwarmer rather than player of note.
It is with some surprise, shock even, that he was today unveiled as a noteworthy signing for Manchester City and expected to be number 2 to Shay Given. For someone not considered good enough to be with Cardiff a few short weeks ago to go to this is incredible.
Good Luck to him and them ... suspect both will need it.
