Last Night's Cardiff City Phone-In
Reviews the fantastic cup win over Leicester City at the weekend and the 5th round draw sending us up the Kings Road to Chelsea, previews tonight's league game at Bristol City and talks about the continued troubles off the pitch. You'll even hear me in the first half hour you lucky things!

Cardiff at Chelsea in F.A. Cup Round 5!
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are all gone from the F.A. Cup but Cardiff City proudly marched on the last last 16 and were duly rewarded in today's Fifth Round draw when they were drawn away at Premiership leaders Chelsea.
Those those who wonder abo0ut omens Cardiff were F.A. Cup[ runners-up in 1925 before wiinning it in 1927 when they beat Chelsea after a replay in Cardiff en route. Atfer being runners up in 2008, who do we get away in 2010 ... yep Chelsea.
It will be the first F.A. Cup game between the sides since that 1927 match up and Cardiff's first visit to Stamford Brdige since a 2-0 league defeat in 1983 in monsoon conditions (I'm still drying out from that day!). However the sides met in a League Cup tie in 1986 when a shock 2 goal Nicki Platenauer salvo knocked out the West Londoners.
It's a costly satart to the month for City fans, many of us having a weekend in Newcastle to start February. The game is set to be played on Valentine's Day subject to tv screening ... the missus will need good flowers this year.

Another keeper not good enough for Cardiff makes high profile Premiership move
Don't know about you but I've just recovering from last week's news that Stuart Taylor - the loan keeper from Aston Villa who didn't really help Cardiff's play-off cause last season without being a disaster either -has signed as no 2 at mega-rich Manchester City.
However that has been surpassed by Ross Turnbull being signed as the key back up for Chelsea from Middlesbrough. Turnbull was due to spend the 2008/09 season on loan at Cardiff but the deal was cut short - under the guise of Boro needing him back - after a series of gaffes and unbelieveably poor displays which had you scratching your head how he got to be a Premiership keeper in the first place.
To be fair, it does appear as though Turnbull, for whatever reason, just didn't work out for club and player. He was a star performer for Middlesbrough in the relegation season, especially in the first half of the season.
However it is ironic that 2 goalkeepers regarded as average or useless by Cardiff City fans now find themselves at two of of biggest Premiership clubs. As someone used to say, "it's a funny ol'game".

Lampard wants to lamp someone
Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard called a London phone-in today to complain about a talkshow presenter criticising him for staying in his marital home while his wife and children moved out.
His wife had her say about her unhappiness in the morning press, the presenter picked up on it, Frank had his say.

No Sunday News so Let's Link Ryan Giggs to Cardiff City
Giggs Models a Retro City Shirt!Media speculation has been frenzied all weekend that Cardiff City may make an audacious move for Ryan Giggs.
The substance for the story has been based on little more than Giggs mentioning how he'd like to finish his career at City, his contract expiring this summer and Peter Ridsdale happy neither to confirm or deny but say how simply seeing him linked with Cardiff is a sign of how far we've come. Giggs showed how much he has to offer by starring in Man United's 3-0 demolition of Chelsea today.
Disappointingly, all the papers comment that Giggs could play in the Championship with City next term ... if he comes at all, I'd prefer us to be in the Premiership please!
