THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE'S SUPPORTERS SURVERY 2008

The Football League has just published its Supporters Survey 2008.

The report compiles the views of the 40,316 supporters who took part in an on-line survey, over half of whom reppresented Championship clubs, exactly 900 of them declared themselves as Cardiff City supporters.


The research reveals that:

- Respondents attended an average of 16 home matches and 5 away matches each season.

- 72% of supporters believe that Football League matches provide good family entertainment.

- Supporters identified match atmosphere as the single most important aspect of the matchday experience.

- 58% of fans prefer to see their clubs midweek matches scheduled on Tuesday nights compared to the 36% that prefer Wednesdays.

- Fans identified players showing dissent or a lack of respect to match officials as the most important area for the football authorities to address in the area of Fair Play, with 29% of supporters believing this to be the case.
