THE 2008 F.A. CUP FINAL REFEREE for Portsmouth vs CARDIFF CITY has been confirmed as Mike Dean of Wirral, Cheshire.
City fans may regards Dean as a Good Luck omen as he was referee for our outstanding 6th round victory at Middlesbrough. He was also ref when City drew 2-2 at Hull earlier in the season with Roger Johnson grabbing a last gasp equaliser but the last time he officiated Cardiff before this season was the nightmare 2-0 play-off home defeat in 2002. We've come a long way since that night!
However he's hardly bad luck for Portsmouth either and more familiar with them having officiated 5 of their games this season which saw there Sailor Boys go undefeated too.
In 38 games so far this season, Dean has booked 131 and sent off 10 players but severely under the microscope just 5 weeks ago officiating the controversial Birmingham v Arsenal game when Eduardo suffered an horrendous injury.
