Land Ahoy! Sale helps Cardiff raise fast funds

Cardiff City council have agreed to all the football club to sell two sections of undeveloped land around its new stadium - a move that helps Cardiff City raise funds and ease cashflow at the time it is most needed with them facing a winding up order 7 days from today unless a £2.7M tax bill is resolved.

The Council agreed to the move in exchange for deferred payments from 2014 for the sale or immediately if promoted. Between promises of money to Langston, supporters, Cardiff City council and who knows who else, it doesn't look like we'll have any money to invest at all if we now get to the Premier League!

As part of the deal, Director Steve Borley's CMB Group have agreed to construct the so called House of Sport indooor facility which the club promised and is overdue. Work will start in 3 months. Once again, Borley has helped the club in its hour of need.

The club raised the idea only a week ago and it flew through to permission despite many councillors being concerned that they were not consulted or had opportunity to see the plans. City officials, naturally, are delighted at this outcome which they hinted stopped the sale of players in the transfer window - although it also appears the club didn't get any bids for any players.
