Cardiff City's Dave Jones has been announced as 1 of 4 nominees for Championship Manager of the Month for October. It was a period that saw City go unbeaten with 3 wins and 2 draws in climbing to 3rd place in the table. The 2 games drawn (at Watford and Blackpool) could/should have been won too. City showed best form so he may yet be the winner but the other nominees are Simon Davey (Barnsley), Paul Jewell (Derby County) and Alex McLeish (Birmingham City)These awards are renowned for being a proverbial kiss of death and, sure enough, City lost at home to Wolves last weekend (November 1st) and lost Ross McCormack and Jay Bothroyd to injury. Perhaps it's better if he doesn't win it!
