WE CELEBRATE OUR 7 GOAL GREATNESS
Been sorting a few old pics and just came across one of a few us celebrating a mighty 7-1 clobbering of Rushden & Diamonds in the League Cup Southern Section 1st Round 7 years agao tonight. (as above)
It was quite surreal, most surreal being Gavin Gordon scoring 5 of them.What a crazy signing he was. £550k completely wasted on him, rumour had it we only bought him because he impressed playing against us for Lincoln in one game.
How we laughed when the transfer almost collapsed because Sam Hammam banned him playing for Jamaica and made him pledge his future to England - he wasn't even good enough to play for City.
He's only scored 4 goals in 3 yrs after leaving us with Notts Co and Oxford and is now in the lower bowels of non-league football.And you thought Eddie Johnson was our worst signing eh?
The crowd that night was just 2.052 - but I bet everyone claims there were there anyway!
