I THINK WE'RE A LOAN NOW

Game Over, Season Over, Mission Aborted as a Total Failure ... the cost of Cardiff City failing to make the play-offs is showing its first casulaties.

Four players were on loan at the club - three of them goalkeepers! - and all have been seen back to their clubs with a thanks but no thanks message. None of them can look back on their loan time with great satisfaction.

Quincy came with great promise and potential - he looks the best player in the world on YouTube clips! - but we barely saw glimpses. Most of his time here was spent in night clubs than football clubs as Dave Jones didn't even pick h

im for the 16 but, bizarrely, threw him on as a last straw against Sheffield Wednesday for 15 minutes last weekend.

The rumour mill would have it that Quincy and Dave Jones fell out, there had been internal friction. All we do know is that his loan from Spartak Moscow didn't come cheap and was undoubtedly money wasted.

Dimi came on loan from Coventry, Cardiff poaching him from Swansea City which cuased some laughter at first but the joke was on us. An horrendous own goal at Champions Wolves were City were closing out victory, other goal costly mistakes, an ability to kick or look like he had played in goals all his life blighted his time. Some will say he cost City the points that could have got us in the play-offs ... we love a scapegoat!

GONE but what happened?

Stuart Taylor came froom Aston Villa and initially looked the part but soon went downhill. After THAT 6-0 defeat at Preston in which he looked ordinary in the extreme, Taylor spoke to local media criticising his defence and talking about how embarressed he was to be in that side. We never saw him again with media saying he was injured but nobody seemed to know what with. Coincidence? Maybe not!

Tom Heaton excited coming from Manchester United and while with City, he earned England Under 21 caps as well. He also said he wanted to stay at Cardiff ... maybe accepting he has nil chance at Old Trafford. However, he never convinced for City either but did play many games. A decent shot stopper, a talker too but too small and lacked conviction on a relationship with his defence. Cardiff certainly need something better.

City's Dilemma facing QPR

Cardiff City fans are checking out Google Maps tonight to find their way back to Ninian Park as City play only their second home Championship game in eight and a hlaf week tomorrow against QPR.

QPR are one of only 4 sides to have defeated Cardiff this season (City avoided Wolves, Birmingham and Plymouth recording a double) but their recent rise towards the play-offs has stuttered with 2 points in their last 3 games including a poor display as they crashed 3-1 to Ipswich in front of tv cameras last Saturday evening. They have good individuals but don't seem to be blending as a team, they made a few changes last Saturday and are expected to repeat that at Ninian Park. Has squad rotation worked well for any club?

Cardiff are a settled unit by anyone's standards but Jay Bothroyd is ruled out tomorrow, the result of a calf injury which also caused him to limp off after 30 minutes at Wolves on Sunday. Paul Parry was pressed alongside Chops but it is rumoured that loan man Quincy will be unleashed.

He has pace and skills galore as this video shows. The prospect of Chops and himself fed by Parry, Burke and co is mouth-watering. It may even distract us from abusing Wayne Routledge for a short time! :>)

The aim has to be 3 points but City boss Dave Jones will take any result declaring it as not a "must win" game by saying, " "Tomorrow doesn't decide anything because there's so many points still up for grabs. In one month's time, at the end of March, we will have a clearer picture of where everybody is."
